Fedimap is intended to be a list of instances on the fediverse, similar to things like FediDB, but better (at least data wise). The data is mostly orientated around Mastodon, but I am working on supporting the major fedi softwares, as well as a generic parser for everything else.
If you've spotted the crawler and are wondering where the data is, well, it is just the crawler so far. I have other stuff to work on, and will let the crawler just run in the background for a month or 2 (until everything calms down).
Yes, I want to make an extensive API for simple searches (basically just GET domain, GET all, etc), statistics, and maybe some more complex searches with filters, etc.
I don't want to collect (nor build a form for) email addresses, so the best way would just be to follow me on the fediverse - @[email protected]
Yes! I'm still figuring out what license to use, but it will be one of the nice ones. I can already give out a hint that the crawler itself is built on top of the Cloudflare Workers platform 🤐
Currently the best way is to not block the crawler useragent :)
The useragent will be around the format of Fedimap/x.x.x (https://fedimap.xyz), currently the version is 0.1.1, but that might change. So, if you can, please try to find a way to dynamically whitelist
